In some cases it is appropriate for a player to be graded into a higher age classification and the club supports the ability of the Grading Convenor and grading panel to make this determination.

A player will be considered for grading into a higher age classification:

1.     At the instigation of the Grading Convenor based on the advice of a grading panel; or

2.     At the request of a player and/or guardian in the case of a player under 18 years.

A request for consideration at a higher age classification must be received by the Grading Convenor by registration close, 19 February 2022. A request should be accompanied by reasons for the request including the player’s past playing experience or participation in representative teams. Requests should not be based solely on friendship groups.

Upon receipt of a request the Grading Convenor will provide instructions as to which grading sessions should be attended by the player.

The Grading Convenor and grading panel will make the final determination as to the grading of a player seeking to play at a higher age classification in accordance with TGNC grading policy.

Any questions should be directed to the Grading Convenor via the email box.

Parents are not allowed to stay and watch grading trials and for those parents who choose to remain at the courts during grading, you will be requested to assist with various volunteer activities, such as preparing and checking equipment for the new season. As we are a large Club based solely on volunteers there is much to be done to assist your children to take the court. Your player is required to stay with her age group for ease of coordinating the grading games. Parents can be a distraction for players.
